Eeenteresting.
Could turn out to be an easy way to get to folks without OpenGL drivers. Not at all clear what stage the project is at though, which probably means it isn't very far along yet.

looks like
ANGLE is going to be used for compositing in Chrome, which hopefully indicates that it's a fairly mature library.
@Cas: How many people are you encountering that lack OpenGL drivers these days? Would a WebGL context be worthwhile?

Nobody much.
Look at it this way: Minecraft is making £40,000
every single day
. It's applet based, and uses OpenGL. This definitively, comprehensively puts an end to the OpenGL vs DirectX and Flash vs Java arguments. It's got nothing to do with the technology; it's all about the product.

And that's before I even mention Runescape which has been making millions for years with the same technology. Albeit their own strangely hand-rolled OpenGL binding.
